Saucy Redhead – Ottawa Citizen, Food section page 2 – 09/29/2004

Billed as “the best barbecue sauce in the world” (beware anyone or anything who claims such glory), Redhead Pantry Gourmet Original BBQ Sauce is nonetheless an impressive sauce that knocks the caps off the mass-produced junk cluttering most supermarkets. Developed by Shaun Funk of Ottawa, this sauce offers a lovely ginger-pepper salvo, chilies, garlic and a hint of smoke — good on roast chicken, in hamburger patties, on pulled pork, ribs and, yes, salmon. We tried it and agree it’s among the very best. Suggested retail price is between $7 and $8 for a 355-mL bottle, available at Aubrey’s Meats and House of Cheese in the Byward Market, Orlik Butchery and Fine Food on Fallowfield Road, Mrs. McGarrigle’s Fine Foods in Merrickville and Capital Appliance & BBQ.
